Learn / Premises Liability

When is a property owner responsible for my injury?

A property owner in California must use reasonable care to keep the property safe. Responsibility usually depends on whether the owner knew, or should have known, about the hazard and had a reasonable chance to fix or warn about it.

What should I do right after a fall?

Report it to the business, ask for an incident report, photograph the hazard and your shoes, and get medical care the same day when possible.

Read more about how we handle these matters on our premises liability practice page.
